Hey, just because some of us are dedicated enough to take out huge loans for
good instruments doesn't make us rich. We just know our priorities.
Thats not that bad of a deal you guys, its got the ebony fingerboard,
probably a swingmaster, if set up properly they can sound alright. Not
everyone was born with a silver spoon up their ass.

There's no question that the best of laminated basses can sound alright, especially pizzicato but they will never have the rich beautiful sounds
of a carved upright.

Certainly, no serious classical bass player is playing on a plywood bass.

But then how we finance or purchase them doesn't mean we have to have loans.
I learned never to buy what you can't afford, so I've gradually upgraded
basses and saved.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Engelhardt only been in business for 15
years and they can be bought new today for only a little more than that?
