Post by JenroseA friend gave my daughter a charming little bowed psaltry--we need to get
the bow rehaired, but the critical point right now is tuning... What kind of
tool would one use for this? (It is not included with the psaltry, we
checked...)

Personal opinion:
I would get a good digital tuner that displays all notes and semitones.
Mine has no meter, but uses LED's to indicate degree of tuning.
Contrary to a lot of purists I find it handy for tuning my violin when I am
at sessions and I can't ask people to stop everything and give me an A then
wait until I tune. I can tune in the dark (LED's) and I can tune quietly
while everyone plays. I also have a Matrix clip, which is a clip with a
microphone in it that I clip to my bridge and plug into the tuner. That
keeps extrainious noise from affecting my results.
I also use it on my guitar and I would use it for a piano if I had to tune
one of those. (although there is some talk about the extremes of the
keyboard not actually being tuned "in tune.")
